Portofino is an ancient fishermen village, reachable by bus or by car in about 15 minutes from Santa Margherita Ligure, driving through a beautiful coast road, considered nowadays as one of the most beautiful in the world. The village, gathered around a natural harbour, still preserves the typical characteristics.
Portofino is a seaside village where glamour and nature combine: it is in fact a crossroads of famous people who mingle with tourists in the superb little main square (piazzetta).
It is possible to make a tour along the small harbour to look about the most luxurious boats or to visit Saint George church, Brown Castle’s museum and the lighthouse located at punta del Capo.
Portofino is not just glamour, but it is the centre of the Park and of the Protected Natural Area, with its paths, the old mill, the Mediterranean maquis and the deep seabed.
