The “Parco di
Portofino” extends on a surface of about 1200 hectares and
includes the town areas of Recco, Camogli, Portofino, Santa
Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, Zoagli and Chiavari.
The Park offers a global view of the ligurian morphological
characteristics, with steep slopes and a co evolution between
nature and the constant human activity with the cultivation of
vineyards, chestnut woods and olive groves. A wide variety of
environments that alternate from the coast to the hinterland.
Black hornbeams, ash trees, chestnut trees, hazels and maple
trees extend on the northern side, while a thick Mediterranean
maquis with a prevalence of heather, strawberry tree, lentisk,
myrtle, pine woods, holm oak forests, ampelodesma grasslands and
bracken fern extend on the southern side.
